Dr. İlksoy Aslım

Biography

İlksoy Aslım was born on Aprıl 1, 1959 at Nicosia, Cyprus. İlksoy Aslım received his PHD from Oulu University of Finland with the thesis “American Foreign Policy on Cyprus”. In March 2016 Aslım got Assistant Professorship degree.

İlksoy Aslım was the vice chairperson of the Department of International Relations of the Near East University between 2005 and 2016. In 2015 he was also appointed to acting chairperson position of the European Union Relations Department. From March 2016 to September 2016 Aslım has been the chairperson of the European Union Relations Department. Until September 2016 Aslım was the coordinator of the Department of International Relations of Distance Learning Faculty, member of the Committee of Director of the Near East Institute and member of Council of Science of NEU. In September 2016 İlksoy Aslım began to work at the International Relations Department of the European University of Lefke, Cyprus. Dr Aslım is currently senior lecturer in Cyprus Science University

İlksoy Aslım is the ATINER’s Academic Member of Politics & International Affairs Research Unit (2015- ) and ATINER’s Academic Member of History Research Unit (2015- ).

İlksoy Aslım’s interest areas are the US foreign policy, Cyprus politics, the Cold War politics, the Middle East politics and Turkey-Greece foreign policies.
